Sampdoria are the favourites to sign Napoli’s Duvan Zapata but face competition from two other clubs.

The Blucerchiati are desperate to sign a forward on transfer deadline day after losing star man Patrik Schick to Roma earlier this week.

They have been heavily linked with 26-year-old Zapata, who is a long way down Maurizio Sarri’s pecking order for a first team place, ever since.

However, Calcio Napoli 24 report that Spartak Moscow have submitted a rival offer for the frontman.

The Russian club, coached by Italian Massimo Carrera, want to take Zapata on a two-year loan deal worth €4m, with the option to sign the player permanently for a further €8m.

It is thought, however, that Napoli would prefer to sell the player outright and are holding out for a fee closer to the €20m mark.

Another unnamed English club are also said to be interested in making a late swoop for the South American’s services.
