Arrigo Sacchi has criticised Juventus’ tactics in Friday’s win over Napoli, saying their victory ‘wouldn’t be celebrated in Spain.’
The former Milan and Italy Coach believes Max Allegri’s team should have displayed more attacking intent after Gonzalo Higuain’s early goal gave them the lead at the San Paolo – despite the Old Lady hanging on to claim a vital three points.
“They won, yes, but with a goal scored in the first 15 minutes,” Sacchi told Corriere del Mezzogiorno.

“After that, they were all back there defending to close it out.”
Sacchi, whose hugely successful career included spells as Atletico Madrid boss and Real Madrid director of football, added that the manner of Juve’s win would be frowned upon across the Mediterranean.
“In Spain, a win like Juve’s wouldn’t be celebrated. Football’s founding fathers would never have imagined giving life to a game that would be developed in such a defensive way.
“For those who love football, the game can only be offensive.
“Juve have everything to become a great team. However, their improvement will become complicated if they simply allow their opponents to play for 70 minutes.”
