Walter Sabatini suggests Roma will not be active for the rest of this transfer window, and praises Palermo striker Paulo Dybala.

The Giallorossi will take on the Sicilian side tomorrow in a match that the Rosanero President Maurizio Zamparini expects to be a close call.

While the two teams will cross each other on the pitch, Sabatini stated that they won’t be meeting off it.

“If I were interested in signing someone from Palermo, I'd have told Zamparini by now,” said the director in an interview with Il Giornale di Sicilia.

“But in any case we will not be operating in the market…

“As for tomorrow, we consider ourselves the favourites, but Palermo are a tough team and can spell trouble for anyone.

“We fear and respect them and we know we'll have to pull off a great performance.

“With all of our injuries the team loses something, but we have other solutions within the squad.”

Zamparini's statements about the game against Roma included a warning to Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis not to expect a ‘Cavani 2.0’, in reference to the possibility of Dybala leaving Palermo.

“Something changed in the psyche of Zamparini, he used to attack the Coaches, now he attacks the directors.

“When I take my decisions, I often ask myself – what would Zamparini have done?

“But I was sure that [Dybala] and [Franco] Vazquez would have done well at the higher levels of football.”
