Daniele Rugani believes the victory over Roma “was worth six points” and he is finally settling in at Juventus.

The centre-back made some crucial interceptions to cut off the service to Edin Dzeko in this evening’s 1-0 win.

“I am happy with my performance, but above all with the result, as the victory was worth six points,” Rugani told Mediaset Premium.

There had been doubts as to whether he would start or the more experienced Medhi Benatia.

“With every game I feel more confident, that’s normal for a player. When you are called into action, it helps you to mature.

“I feel that I have improved in several areas, but perhaps the most important step was a psychological one. I came from a different level at Empoli and it took the right amount of time to adapt.

“It has been a wonderful week, starting with the Turin Derby, then my contract extension and now this victory.”
