Portugal boss Fernando Santos confirms Cristiano Ronaldo will not face Italy in the Nations League as he wants to focus on Juventus.

Ronaldo was left out of Portugal’s squad for the upcoming international break, although there is a place for the No 7’s Juve teammate Joao Cancelo, as well as Napoli’s Mario Rui and former Milan striker Andre Silva.

“I spoke to him and we concluded that in light of his adaptation process in Turin and having just signed for a new team, he won’t be with us,” Santos said at a Press conference.

The Euro 2016 winners kick off the international break against Croatia on September 6, before facing Italy in the Nations League four days later.
