Cristiano Ronaldo claims people want him to fail at Juventus and ‘likes’ hearing Real Madrid fans asking him to return.

Ronaldo’s move to Juve last summer was allegedly instigated by a breakdown in his relationship with Real Madrid after they failed to support him with his tax problems.

However, the No 7 told El Pais: “Everyone treated me well in Spain.

Ronaldo’s move to Juve last summer was allegedly instigated by a breakdown in his relationship with Real Madrid after they failed to support him with his tax problems.

However, the No 7 told El Pais: “Everyone treated me well in Spain.

“Regardless of my tax problems, which I cannot hide or forget, I go on with my head held high and my life is an open book.

“The fans in Madrid love me. They know that I gave a lot to Real and when they meet me on the street, they tell me: ‘Come back Cris, this will always be your home.’ I like hearing it.

“Critics see me as a person who can never have problems or concerns, who can’t be sad. People think you can’t have problems with money.

“How can Cristiano be sad if he has all those millions? I know that people keep their rifles pointed, waiting for me to miss a penalty or mess up in a crucial match.

“But that’s part of life and I must stay prepared, like I have been for many years.”
