The Spanish giants are in Rome ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League Last 16 first leg, and the Portuguese superstar addressed the media in the pre-match Press conference.

“We’ve been working very well,” Ronaldo said, sitting alongside Coach Zinedine Zidane.

“We’ve been training well for three weeks, scoring lots of goals, everything is proceeding in a phenomenal way.

“This is a very important competition for us, for Real Madrid. We know that we’ll play a difficult match tomorrow, but we’ve prepared well and we will try to win.”

Despite hitting 32 goals in 31 games across all competitions this season – along with 11 assists – some have suggested that Ronaldo has passed his peak.

“I’m used to it [the criticism], I consider it normal. I’ve been good to people, I’ve always given them everything and as soon as you slow down a bit journalists write all this.

“I’d sign-on to continue in this form.”

The former Manchester United man is known for his rivalry with Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, what did he think of the Argentinian’s penalty pass at the weekend?

“I’ll be brief and to the point,” Ronaldo replied.

“I know why Messi did what he did. I’ll leave the interpretation to you.”
