Romulo’s agent says a return to Fiorentina is unlikely, and that ‘many great Italian clubs’ are interested in his services.

The Brazilian born utility man impressed with Verona last season and has headed into this summer amid growing speculation of interest from the likes of Roma and Juventus.

For his representative, such links are not wide of the mark, even if perhaps focus must first be on Fiorentina and the Gialloblu resolving his co-ownership status.

“I am Brazil so I cannot confirm if he has been in contact with Roma,” Alex Firminio has begun in conversation with Calcionews24 today.

“I know accurately that he is liked by many great Italian clubs, certainly it can be that Roma are profiling him too.

“Romulo has played a great season with Verona, where he worked very well with the team, the fans and the technical staff. He is a player who can work well in several teams, but for anything further you have to ask [Verona ds Sean] Sogliano and [Fiorentina ds Daniele] Prade.

“I think that Verona want to focus on him, I have had this message up to a short while ago. I think it is very difficult to think of his return to Fiorentina, but everything will be clear when I return to Italy, I believe from next week.

“We must first find an agreement between the two clubs and then we can think about his future.

“There is the possibility that he will remain in Verona or that he may leave after they redeem his registration.”
