Roma are finally showing the same mindset as their coach José Mourinho, being the Serie A team with the most goals scored in stoppage time this term.

The Giallorossi rescued a point against Udinese yesterday thanks to a late Lorenzo Pellegrini goal from the spot. It was Roma’s sixth goal in stoppage time this season. No Serie A team has managed more so far.

Roma are having highs and lows and are unlikely to snatch a Champions League spot being eight points behind fourth-placed Juventus.

However, they are somehow developing and showing a slice of the winning mentality that Mourinho usually brings to his teams. The Special One works a lot on his players’ mindset and seems to be reaping the rewards at the Stadio Olimpico. The next step will be to make the team more consistent, which would help them become credible contenders for the top-four in 2022-23.

Mourinho signed a three-year deal with the Giallorossi and admitted at his unveiling press conference in July that he had joined the club committing to a long-term project that would see him become regular title contenders in the future.

Roma are still in the race to win a piece of silverware this season being among the favourites to lift the Conference League. Last week, they started the knock-out phase with the right foot, beating Vitesse 1-0 away in the first leg of the Round of 16.

  1. Perfect insights of Roma’s performance so far, but the players must psych themselves up in big games; especially against the top 4 teams.
Roma as a team must know that nothing beats a team that gives 100% concentration and zeal to win; the players need to support and communicate with each other proactively as professionals. Mourinho can’t do it all; because having a winning mentality doesn’t mean players have to arrogant. It’s about having right attitude to achieve positive results NOT being over confident as it has shown in conceding early goals. Overall, the squad shown that it can grow beyond their current potential. Daje Roma💪🟡🔴
