Nuno Santos and Kjetil Knutsen have both been handed a three-match ban following the incident at the end of Bodo/Glimt’s 2-1 win over Roma.

The Roma goalkeeping coach and the Bodo/Glimt head coach were involved in an aggressive coming together at the end of the tense Europa Conference League quarter-final match in Norway back on April 7 and the situation sparked a significant controversy. Both were suspended for the second leg of the quarter-finals a week later as a result of the incident.

As announced by The Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body of UEFA, both Knutsen and Nuno Santos have been handed a three-man ban for UEFA club competition matches due to the scrap. The match they both missed in the quarter-finals has been taken into account, meaning the Roma goalkeeping coach would be able to attend the final, should the Giallorossi get there.

Roma ultimately won the return leg at the Stadio Olimpico and are now facing Leicester City tonight in the first leg of their semi-finals.
