Roma are expected to be without captain Lorenzo Pellegrini for circa a month after he limped off with yet another muscular problem.

The midfielder was only a second half substitute in the Europa League match against Servette on Thursday evening.

In just 11 minutes on the field, he scored a goal, provided an assist and then picked up an injury to his right thigh.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the tests have shown a tear to the flexor in the right leg and he is expected to be out of action for circa a month.

That would mean missing out on big games including the showdown with Inter on October 28.

It is now a race against time for Pellegrini to be fit for the huge Derby della Capitale against Lazio on November 12.

He has naturally also been forced to withdraw from the Italy squad that will face Malta and England in EURO 2024 qualifiers next week.
