Roma hope to present Georginio Wijnaldum as their new player before Sunday’s friendly against Shakhtar Donetsk, according to reports in Italy.

The Netherlands international appears to be on the brink of completing a move to the Giallorossi, though no deal with Paris Saint-Germain has been agreed, if reports are to be believed.

The latest news is that PSG are holding up the deal as they regularly change their demands.

But Il Corriere dello Sport report Roma hope to present Wijnaldum ahead of the friendly against the Ukraining side at the Stadio Olimpico.

According to the report, Wijnaldum has opted to sacrifice a bonus owed to him by the French club and even reduced his wage demands in a bid to speed up proceedings.

Roma are refusing to accept an obligation to make the deal permanent being included in negotiations and want PSG to cover around 50% of the player’s salary, the report adds.

  1. Say what you want but the new Roma knows how to haggle and make deals. So far it’s been an excellent job by Pinto and the Fredkins. After the absolute debacle of Palotta and Monchi theres finally some light at the end of the tunnel!

  2. Tell me about it. Pallotta & Monchi took a CL semi-finalist and destroyed it, selling players for scraps. Surprised Monchi still has a job to be honest, that guy is about as useless as Nzonzi.

  3. A President who cares about the club is a feeling I haven’t had since the Sensi’s. I believe the previous owner cared but just made horrible buss decisions. The Friedkin group seem very clear about the path for the club
