La Gazzetta dello Sport highlighted how Abraham’s early goal helped Mourinho follow the ‘perfect game plan’ with the Special one so committed that he almost played with the team and fans.
The pink paper named Abraham and captain Lorenzo Pellegrini the best players on the pitch, rating them 7.5/10.
The England striker was the MOTM according to Tuttosport and Il Corriere dello Sport, who called him ‘King Tammy.’
On the other hand, Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy was rated 4.5 by Corsport and was the worst player on the pitch, according to all three Italian sports papers.
The England international wasn’t fully fit and failed to cause any trouble for Roma over the two legs, so much so Il Corriere dello Sport re-named him ‘The Phantom of the Opera.’
