According to The Athletic, Justin Kluivert’s move from Roma to Fulham is off due to work permit issues.

The Giallorossi had agreed to send the Dutch winger on loan to England. The deal came with an obligation to buy after the first appearance for circa €9m.

However, according to The Athletic, the deal is now off as Kluivert’s work permit application has been rejected.

“Lack of recent appearances for Roma meant he failed to meet FA criteria & appeal was not allowed,” wrote David Ornstein.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Roma have failed to comment on the news. Kluivert spent the last season on loan at OGC Nice where he scored six goals in 31 appearances.

Kluivert joined Roma from Ajax in a €17m deal in the summer of 2018 and has scored nine goals in 68 appearances with the Giallorossi.

His last appearance in the capital dates back to October 3, 2020, just a few days before his loan move to RB Leipzig.

  1. What a stupid rule. He wants to move because he needs game time, but he can’t because he needs game time.

  2. Only Fulham’s Tony Khan could have failed to check the legality of Kluivert work permit situation before wasting so much time on a non transfer. The man isn’t fit to buy and sell football programmes on match day, let alone be involved in transfers of players. I wonder how much he decides on the type of player we bid for??.

Try and do something right before tomorrow and buy Houssam and perhaps Brereton Diaz and Bowler.
