The Sao Paolo star has long been linked with a Serie A switch, as the Giallorossi, Inter and Milan have all shown interest.

That waned in recent months and FIFA agent and transfer intermediary Sabatino Durante believes this is the right time to take advantage.

“As things stand right now, Roma have not made any formal offer for Casemiro,” he told Radio Mana Mana.

“If they really want to invest €5m in the lad, then they’ll prove they have a keen eye for talented young players.

“After the Under-20 World Cup, the lad got too big for his boots and his performances dipped. Even if in Brazil they are convinced they play the best football in the world, Casemiro is not worth what he was a few months ago, which was €10-12m.

“In fact, even €7-8m might be a bit steep. Roma can get him for a bargain €5m right now.”
