Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini is set to meet Xherdan Shaqiri’s agent to establish whether the playmaker would be interested in a move.

As such, several of Europe’s best clubs have been enquiring about the Switzerland international.

Liverpool were thought to be one of the favourites to land the former Basel star, but respected Sky journalist Gianluca Di Marzio believes that a meeting between the Giallorossi and the player’s brother will take place soon.

Rudi Garcia’s men are thought to have baulked at Bayern’s asking price of €20m, but hope that they can persuade the youngster to try and force a move to the Italian capital, with a slight discount.
