The Italy international had been linked with a switch away from the French capital, with Juventus and Real Madrid thought to be interested in his services.

However, L’Equipe report this afternoon that the 21-year-old’s agent will meet with representatives from Les Parisien to discuss a renewal.

Verratti’s current deal ends in 2018, but PSG hope to ward off any bids by inserting a new release clause in the midfielder’s new contract, as well as offering him a pay rise and extending for potentially one or two years.
