Roma will start talks with Francesco Totti’s representatives this week to discuss a new contract for the club symbol.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, the almost 37-year-old will accept a reduced salary of €3.5m a season, but he wants a two-year contract in return.

Roma, it is being claimed, would rather hand him a fresh 12-month agreement.

The Corriere adds that Roma director general Mauro Baldissoni will make contact with Totti and Co at some stage over the next seven days.
