Roma have leapfrogged Juventus in the UEFA ranking for this season, but remain 21st overall with the Bianconeri in fifth.

The Giallorossi went out of the Champions League semi-final after a controversial 4-2 victory over Liverpool, losing 7-6 on aggregate.

That result, the first defeat suffered by Liverpool in Europe all term, has pushed Roma up to joint fourth in this season’s UEFA ranking alongside Barcelona on 25,000 points.

They are behind only Bayern Munich, who have 29,000 points, and Finalists Liverpool and Real Madrid on 30,000.

Juventus are left behind in sixth place with 23,000 points and could fall further, as they are level with Europa League semi-finalists Atletico Madrid, who host Arsenal tonight.

However, in the overall UEFA club ranking spanning the various years, Real Madrid remain top followed by Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus.

Roma don’t show up in this list until 21st place, behind Bayer Leverkusen.
