Roma are not in any negotiations with Ajax for Maarten Stekelenburg, the Dutch club have confirmed.

Although the Italian side are close to netting Idriss Carlos Kameni of Espanyol, it is being claimed by some that the Giallorossi actually want both 'keepers this summer.

However, Ajax boss Frank De Boer suggests that no clubs have stepped forward for the Holland international.

"At the moment there is no interest in him," De Boer is quoted as saying.

"We now need to clarify if he is staying or not and whether he wants to sign a new contract.

"If he doesn't extend then he will probably be sold during the January transfer window."

Stekelenburg is only contracted to Ajax until June 2012 which means he could leave next summer for nothing.
