Although up to 4,000 people will be allowed into the Mapei Stadium for the Coppa Italia Final between Atalanta and Juventus on Wednesday, the Serie A games remain out of bounds due to COVID restrictions.

Roma decided they would mark the occasion of a Derby della Capitale anyway and sell ‘virtual’ tickets to fans for €2.

They would be able to buy a virtual ticket, choose their seat in the stadium and become part of the display in the stands.

The initiative certainly worked, as 46,000 tickets have been sold for the event.

The club announced all the proceeds will go to Roma Cares, their charity initiative.

In return, the fans will each receive a T-Shirt, a voucher to purchase items at the Roma Store and be entered into a raffle to win prizes.
