Juan Iturbe and 18-year-old Kela Coby were on target as Roma beat Argentines San Lorenzo 2-1 in a friendly.

The proceeds from the match were donated to victims of the recent earthquake in central Italy and yesterday both teams met with Pope Francis.

Many of the Giallorossi were away on international duty, so it was the opportunity to experiment and Moustapha Seck had an impressive run in the first half, while Bruno Peres drilled just wide and Bogdan Lobont was tested by Blanco and Cauteruccio.

Iturbe broke the deadlock with a well-taken finish when sent clear by a Leandro Paredes ball over the top.

Belluschi equalised thanks to a ferocious left-foot curler from distance after he turned Paredes with smart footwork.

The Roma winner was spectacular, as Bruno Peres combined with Francesco Totti, flicked the ball over a defender and pulled back the finish for Keba’s tap-in.

Totti’s free kick skimmed the woodwork, then the captain set up Stephan El Shaarawy to force a difficult save.
