There are rapidly growing reports Roma will sell Leandro Paredes next week, as Watford, Everton and Juventus join Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham in the race.

The 22-year-old Argentine midfielder is surplus to requirements now that Coach Luciano Spalletti has changed system.

The club therefore sees him as an opportunity to cash in, therefore able to bring in Godfred Donsah from Bologna and Sassuolo’s Gregoire Defrel.

They have already struck a deal for Olympique Lyonnais midfielder Clement Grenier, who is undergoing his medical this morning, on loan with option to buy for €3.5m.

Last night Sky Sport Italia reported that Roma were prepared to sell Paredes for €25m plus €5m in bonuses.

However, reports are spreading like wildfire this morning that the matter is far more urgent than anyone expected, so a sale is not only possible in January, but practically certain.

His destination remains to be seen, but the Premier League is the most likely option with Liverpool the favourites thanks to Jurgen Klopp’s long-standing interest.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are alternatives, but calciomercato.it even suggest Walter Mazzarri’s Watford and Hull City as candidates for Paredes.

Calciomercato.com claim Juventus, Everton, Leicester City and West Ham United are preparing bids, although Roma would not be eager to reinforce the Serie A leaders, especially after Miralem Pjanic joined them this season.
