Roma will reportedly try to close out the sale of Jordan Veretout to Olympique Marseille in a new set of talks tomorrow.

The Giallorossi have been hard at work this summer improving the team available to Jose Mourinho, hoping the new additions like Paulo Dybala and Nemanja Matic can help close the gap to the top four teams. Making space for new acquisitions, like the inbound Georginio Wijnaldum, also means Roma have to cut the unneeded players from their squad.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, a new round of talks between Roma and Marseille will take place tomorrow, where both parties will try to finalise Veretout’s transfer. The French side are set to pay around €10m for the midfielder, who will earn around €3m net per season. The deal will be a loan with an obligation to buy clause attached.

After a good start, Veretout began to fall out of favour under Jose Mourinho, and he made significantly less starts in the second half of the campaign.

  1. surprised marseille want him, he is really slow in reading everything – player for the relegation teams in top 5/6 leagues in europe

  2. when he played under Fonseca he was excellent but the rest of the team played like crap. If Mourinho has no use for him then I guess his time in Rome is over. Very surprised no other Italian team has came forward.
