Roma are not giving up on their pursuit of Sassuolo’s Davuide Frattesi and according to Calciomercato, the club are preparing a new offer to tempt his current employers into letting him leave for the Stadio Olimpico this summer.

This is not the first time that Roma have swooped in for Frattesi, as the relevant parties were reported to be in negotiations over a potential transfer last summer as well.

Frattesi originally joined Sassuolo from Roma in 2017 and the Giallorossi, as highlighted by Calciomercato, have retained a 30% sell-on clause as a result of the move six years ago.

Sassuolo value Frattesi at a reported €35m, but given their sell-on clause, Roma would not have to stump up for the full sum, and would take home a significant chunk of Frattesi’s transfer fee if he were to move elsewhere.

Calciomercato suggests that Roma are ready to offer Sassuolo an initial €10m, most of which has come from the recent sales of Cristian Volpato and Filippo Missori, as well as a further €11m plus €3m in bonuses in a year’s time.

That would take Roma’s proposal to a total cash offer of €24m, which, including the value of the sell-on clause, would take the Giallorossi’s valuation up to a figure between €31m-€32m.

If they are unable to land Frattesi, Roma are reported to be interested in going after Renato Sanches from Paris Saint-Germain.

Alternatively, Marcel Sabitzer from Bayern Munich is said to be of interest, as is Daichi Kamada, who has recently become a free agent following the expiry of his contract with Eintracht Frankfurt.
