There are reports Roma have agreed to pay Cagliari €20m for Radja Nainggolan plus the loan of Carlos Carbonero.

The player initially arrived on loan in January 2014, then last summer the Giallorossi took up their option to buy half his contract.

As co-ownership situations have now been barred, the clubs had to agree terms on what to do with the other 50 per cent.

According to Sport Mediaset this evening, directors of sport Walter Sabatini and Stefano Capozucca have finally reached a deal.

Roma are to pay Cagliari €20m for half Nainggolan’s contract, plus loan Carbonero for next season.

Juventus, Manchester United and Manchester City were among clubs interested in swooping for Belgium international Nainggolan in case Roma failed to resolve the situation.

If the matter went on beyond the deadline, it would go to a blind auction – where both clubs put a figure in a sealed envelope and the highest bid wins full ownership.
