According to reports in France, Roma contacted Paris Saint-Germain to see if they wanted to make an offer for outcast Nicolò Zaniolo.

The Italy international has reached the end of the road in the Eternal City after telling coach Jose Mourinho and the club that he wants to be sold, while the Giallorossi responded by confirming they are not interested in extending the contract that expires in June 2024.

So far, the only proposals have come from the Premier League, most notably Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, Brighton and Hove Albion and Nottingham Forrest.

However, Footmercato in France assure that PSG were also contacted to see if they would be interested in making a swoop for the 23-year-old.

They already have a strong connection with Italy thanks to the presence of Marco Verratti and Gianluigi Donnarumma, so would be able to help him settle in across the Alps.

However, it would appear that Paris Saint-Germain are not going to make an offer, even for a loan with obligation to buy, as Roma lowered the asking price to €30m.
