Roma Coach Rudi Garcia says his side will not be aiming for a draw when they take on CSKA Moscow in the Champions League tomorrow night.

The Giallorossi have struggled on the road of late, losing away games to Napoli and Juventus in Serie A, as well as taking just one point from their opening two European games on the road.

If Roma emerge victorious tomorrow and Manchester City lose to Bayern Munich, Garcia’s men will be assured of progression to the last 16.

Even a draw in tomorrow’s game would leave the Lupi with their destiny in their own hands as Garcia’s men would have the advantage over the Russians on head-to-head encounters, with the two tied on five points.

However, in a Press conference ahead of the match, the French Coach insisted his men would not be playing for a draw.

“Just because we won the first game [5-1] that doesn’t mean we come here lacking humility,” Garcia informed assembled media.

“Even a draw would be a useful result for us, but that doesn’t mean that we’ll play for the draw.

“As usual, we play to win.

“When we look at what we’ve brought back from trips to Manchester, Naples and Munich we haven’t got as much as we should have, but we must look at the bigger picture which says that Roma are doing well in the league and can qualify in the Champions League.

“We haven’t done everything perfectly, but we’ve done well enough to be in the running.

“When the draw was made, no-one thought that after four games we’d have the chance to qualify in the fifth.

“It means that we’ve done what we’ve had to do, and we must continue to do so.

“We have to continue tomorrow.

“We know that we have our destiny in our own hands, and the advantage of the first leg result.

“We won’t rely on others, we’ll do everything to win even if we know it’ll be difficult.”
