Roma director Mauro Baldissoni insists they will “say no thank you to any offer” for Daniele De Rossi.

The director general spoke to Sky Sport Italia ahead of this evening’s Serie A match against Hellas Verona.

He was asked about the fact Marco Borriello is on the bench today, while reports continue from England that Manchester United are interested in De Rossi.

“Borriello on the bench? Coach Rudi Garcia made his choices and the transfer market has nothing to do with those,” said Baldissoni.

“As for De Rossi, we will always reply ‘no thank you’ to any formal offer that is proposed for him, as would the player.

“Both Roma and Daniele are coming off a year that didn’t go well and we want to make up for that together.”

Francesco Totti’s contract expires in June 2014, but Roma are not afraid of losing their talismanic captain on a free transfer.

“We are working on Totti’s renewal. He will stay for a long time to come.”
