Roma have reportedly increased their offer for Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi to €15m including add-ons.

Another meeting is expected on Thursday to discuss the situation, but the Giallorossi are determined to bring Frattesi back to the Stadio Olimpico.

He was a Roma youth academy product until the €5m sale to Sassuolo in the summer of 2017.

That deal included giving the Giallorossi a 30 per cent cut of any future sale, which is why Frattesi is available to join Roma for considerably cheaper than any other club would be able to buy him.

According to La Repubblica, the original €10m plus €3m in bonuses offer was rejected, so it has been increased to €15m including the add-ons.

Sassuolo had wanted €22m or cash plus the loan of Italy Under-19 international Cristian Volpato.

Jose Mourinho has already secured Nemanja Matic as a free agent after his Manchester United experience and now wants 22-year-old Frattesi to bolster the midfield.
