Roma have accepted midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan will join Inter on a free transfer and will not increase their most recent contract offer, according to reports.

The Armenia international will become a free agent on June 30 and has been in talks with Inter over a free transfer.

Despite recent reports suggesting a move to Inter was agreed, there had been some hope on Roma’s side that they could still convince him to stay.

However, Il Corriere dello Sport reported on Tuesday that Roma have accepted he will leave and will not increase the offer made a week ago.

The report adds Mkhitaryan bid farewell to his team-mates following their historic Europa Conference League victory.

It also states that Inter have offered Mkhitaryan a deal worth €3.5 million over two years, which Roma are not willing to match.

Mkhitaryan joined Roma from Arsenal in the summer of 2019 and has made 116 appearances in all competition, scoring 29 goals.
