Whilst Roma refused to talk to the media after their 4-3 loss to Sassuolo, the club were deeply dissatisfied with referee Michael Fabbri and his decisions.

The Giallorossi are furious with the two-game ban handed to coach Jose Mourinho following his clash with fourth official Marco Serra in the loss to Cremonese and have decided to stop any staff or players from speaking to the media for the rest of this season.

Mourinho was suspended for the loss to Sassuolo but did watch the match at the Stadio Olimpico, staying near the Roma dressing room alone to follow the game and send instructions to his staff.

La Gazzetta dello Sport highlights how Roma and their directors were seriously unhappy with Fabbri’s decisions in the loss to Sassuolo.

The most obvious source of contention was the decision to send off Marash Kumbulla and award the Neroverdi a penalty following a clash with Domenico Berardi, whose provocation to the Roma defender wasn’t noticed by the VAR team.

Apart from this incident, however, Roma were frustrated in general, believing the 39-year-old Italian referee was off the mark for the entirety of the match.
