A transfer market Derby della Madonnina is fast approaching as both Milan and Inter are keen on a move for Arsenal loanee Folarin Balogun, who is shining in France with Stade Reims.

The 21-year-old English forward, who progressed up the youth system at the Gunners, joined the Ligue 1 outfit in the summer on loan, allowing him to continue his development with regular playing time.

Balogun has widely exceeded expectations in France and has been on fire this season, scoring 16 goals and providing two assists in 26 league appearances for Will Still’s side.

La Gazzetta dello Sport details how Milan are seriously interested in picking up Balogun in the summer, aware that a new striker is needed.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is in the twilight of his career now, Divock Origi has failed to show much of note and Olivier Giroud is also in the final stages of his career, prompting the Rossoneri to search for a new long-term option.

They are not alone in their interest, however, as Inter have also been following Balogun for some time now.

Romelu Lukaku has not had a positive return and a new loan deal with Chelsea may not be agreed, Edin Dzeko is currently on track to leave the club on a free transfer and Joaquin Correa has not looked up to standard with the club, pushing the Nerazzurri to look to the market.

The 21-year-old forward will return to Arsenal at the end of the season and is contracted to the Premier League side until June 2025, making this summer the perfect time to sell the talented striker.
