A handful of Roma fans were reportedly arrested after causing problems on the flight to England for the Europa League game with Brighton.

It kicks off at the Amex Stadium at 20.00 GMT.

The Giallorossi won the first leg 4-0 and some of the supporters made the flight from Rome to London Stansted last night, then aiming to continue the journey by train to Brighton.

However, La Gazzetta dello Sport write that five or six fans made their presence felt in negative fashion during the flight and police were there to meet them as they left the plane.

The majority of the circa 1,500 Roma fans attending the match are flying in today for the late evening kick-off.

Also present at the Amex Stadium will be the two Brighton and Hove Albion supporters who were stabbed during the trip to Rome.

This unfortunately is not an uncommon situation in Rome, especially when the visiting supporters are English and therefore assumed to be ‘hooligans’ up for a fight with the local hard-line ultras.
