Roma striker Edin Dzeko is a major doubt for Friday’s Serie A clash with Inter due to a bout of flu.

The Bosnian hasn’t trained with the squad for the last two days because of a high fever, and Goal.com reports that if his temperature doesn’t subside, he may well miss the showdown at San Siro.

As is their desperation to have him available, the Giallorossi are monitoring his condition on an hourly basis and will not rule him out until the very last moment.

If the 33-year-old was to miss the game, it would prove problematic for Paulo Fonseca as Nikola Kalinic is still working his way back from injury after breaking his fibula against Milan in October.

Dzeko has scored six goals in 14 games for the Giallorossi this season and came close to joining Inter over the summer.
