Roma striker Tammy Abraham made his return to action 10 months after suffering a knee injury, coming off the bench as a substitute in the derby against Lazio.

The former Chelsea striker replaced Paulo Dybala at minute 79, joining Romelu Lukaku in the Giallorossi’s attack with Roma 1-0 up. Daniele De Rossi said in February that Abraham could play alongside Lukaku when returning to action.

When was Abraham’s last game for Roma?

It was Abraham’s season debut for Roma and his return to action 10 months after a knee injury sustained against Spezia on June 4, 2023, in the final Serie A round of last season.

On paper, today’s derby is a home fixture for Roma, so most fans at the Stadio Olimpico support the Giallorossi. The crowd gave Abraham a warm welcome and a big round of applause as soon as he stepped onto the pitch.

Abraham joined Roma in a €40m deal from Chelsea in 2021 and has scored 36 goals in 107 appearances with the Giallorossi.
