Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers insists there’s been no contact from Inter regarding midfielder Lucas Leiva.

The Brazilian midfielder has been heavily linked with the Nerazzurri after Coach Roberto Mancini admitted that he would love to have the player in his squad, but the Reds’ boss says there’s been no contact.

“He [Lucas] is not one that we would want to lose in January,” Rodgers informed reporters in his Press conference before Liverpool’s match with Aston Villa.

“There will be speculation over the course of the month on a lot of players, but that is not something I would be willing to do in January.

“Of course, at the end of the season everything is looked at again, but the team has good momentum.

“The team is in a good flow. We're starting to find our feet and players are starting to adapt and work really well so I don't need to disrupt them.

“I have spoken to him, but we have had nothing from them [Inter]. I think he's just enjoying playing and he's playing very well."
