Former Atalanta winger Emiliano Rigoni is on the verge of a return to Italy with Sampdoria.

ANSA reports Zenit St Petersburg have given Rigoni the green light to join Samp on a €1m loan with an €11m obligation to buy if plays a certain number of games.

However, the agency notes Zenit will only release him once they find a replacement.
