The announcement was made this afternoon that Allegri would be leaving Juve at the end of the season, terminating his contract a year early by mutual consent.

He will hold a joint Press conference with President Andrea Agnelli tomorrow afternoon, ending a five-year reign with 11 trophies.

According to Sportitalia, who have always been very close to Sarri throughout the tense negotiations between Napoli and Chelsea last summer, the Italian tactician is in talks to take over at Juventus.

He would also be able to reunite with Higuain, as Chelsea do not intend to make his loan move from Juve a permanent switch.

The Sarri link has also been put forward by Sky Sport Italia, pundit Tancredi Palmeri, Tuttomercatoweb and the Chelsea Coach is also the bookies’ favourite.

News agency Ansa point out Sarri is at 4.00 for the role, followed by Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino (4.75), Didier Deschamps (5.00), Lazio’s Simone Inzaghi (5.50) and Antonio Conte (5.50).

Sky Sport Italia have mentioned Bologna boss Sinisa Mihajlovic several times.

Sarri had pushed Juve closer than anyone during Allegri’s reign, leading the Serie A table with Napoli for much of the season before capitulating late on.

He has taken Chelsea to the Carabao Cup Final and will play Arsenal in the Europa League Final, while he also secured third place in the Premier League during his debut campaign.

Sarri has been heavily criticised by sections of the Stamford Bridge crowd this season, despite strong results.
