Builders are due to begin their work at the Stadio Via del Mare this summer, but in the advent of those upgrades remaining unfinished by the start of the new campaign, the Apulia club would have to play their home games elsewhere.

According to newspaper Gazzetta del Sud, the Salentini have submitted a request to the Mayor of Crotone and club President Gianni Vranna for the use of the Calabrian’s home ground.

The Giallorossi were promoted back to the top flight for the first time since 2012 after they finished second behind Brescia in Serie B.
