La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Juventus have agreed personal terms with Timothy Weah and now need to strike a deal with LOSC.

The 23-year-old son of former Milan star George Weah has said many times he would like to follow in his father’s footsteps and play in Serie A.

Born in New York and playing his international football for the USA, his contract with Lille only runs to June 2024.

The asking price is believed to be in the region of €15m, but Juve are trying to lower that figure with help from Weah and his agents.

A meeting was held a few days ago between Juventus director of sport Giovanni Manna and the player’s entourage, which went well, and talks have progressed to reach a tentative deal.

The report in La Gazzetta dello Sport suggests that it is also a marketing move for Juve, who want a USMNT player to replace Weston McKennie.

Weah plays as a right-back or an attacking winger down the right, so would suit both the 3-5-2 formation and a 4-4-2.
