Il Corriere dello Sport revealed his agent Claudio Vigorelli was at Trigoria yesterday, as Tottenham Hotspur reportedly approached the club asking about the Italy international.

But the Giallorossi rejected the English side and apparently laid the foundations for a new contract with the attacking midfielder.

Zaniolo will extend his contract expiring in June 2024 by adding further year and the report claims his salary will increase to reach €3m a season at the Olimpico.

The 21-year-old, who ruptured his ACL in January, has been called up to the Italy squad for the UEFA Nations League matches against Bosnia and Holland.

Zaniolo played 26 League matches last season, contributing six goals in the process.
