There are shock reports emerging that Roma have agreed personal terms with Villarreal and Brazil hitman Nilmar.

The Giallorossi have made it clear their spending spree is not yet over, as today director of sport Walter Sabatini declared they would “sign another three or four players.”

According to Sky Sport Italia, one of those targets is Brazilian striker Nilmar and they have worked out basic personal terms.

Villarreal's asking price is €20m, whereas so far Roma have offered €14m cash plus performance-related bonuses for the 27-year-old.

There is a lot of interest from other clubs around Europe, including Real Madrid.

It's reported there is another problem for Roma, as in order to bring in Nilmar – a non-EU player – they must first free up a space in the squad.

Fabio Simplicio is the most likely candidate to be sold abroad.
