Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has been shopping in the East again, this time picking up highly-rated centre-back Milan Milanovic from Lokomotiv Moscow.

The 19-year-old Serbia Under-21 international was in the stands at the Renzo Barbera on Saturday to see Palermo's 3-1 victory over Parma.

La Gazzetta dello Sport understand he will join on a Bosman free transfer in the summer. Milanovic's contract expires in March, but he will formally become a Palermo player in July.

La Gazzetta dello Sport understand he will join on a Bosman free transfer in the summer. Milanovic's contract expires in March, but he will formally become a Palermo player in July.

It seems he will be registered as Palermo's one non-EU player for next season.

Milanovic had been linked with Juventus and Milan last month.

He will sign a five-year contract worth €400,000 a season.

"You will see Milanovic training with us on July 1st," Zamparini told reporters.

"There will be some other deals. I hope to close them all before the end of December and not go into the market in January."

Milanovic joins four other players from the former Yugoslavia in Sicily, namely Armin Bacinovic, Josip Ilicic, Sinisa Andjelkovic and Jasmin Kurtic.
