Walter Mazzarri has been sacked by Inter and Roberto Mancini is set to return in his place, according to reports today.

There has been much speculation of late about the future of the current Nerazzurro Coach and today Gianluca Di Marzio’s website reports that President Erick Thohir has decided overnight to take action and replace him with former Inter boss Mancini.

After a recent downturn in results, Mazzarri is understood to have been given his marching orders, whilst an agreement for Mancini's return is apparently all but confirmed.

Mancini, who spent four years at San Siro in his first spell as Coach, winning three Scudetti and two Coppa Italia, will be given a two-and-a-half year contract.

The 49-year-old could take charge of Inter for the first time in six years for the Milan derby on November 23.
