Xherdan Shaqiri has again encouraged interest from Juventus, but Manchester City’s Steven Jovetic is also being considered.

The Bianconeri have long been linked with Shaqiri, who has found himself on the fringes of the Bayern Munich squad, and Tuttosport reports today that the Old Lady would look to the Switzerland international rather than hand a new contract to Sebastian Giovinco.

The Serie A champions’ interest is seen to have been piqued after Shaqiri again admitted that he was unhappy with a lack of playing time for the Bavarian giants.

“I wanted to leave last summer,” Shaqiri is reported as telling Blick this week.

“But the club made its decision and I had to accept that.

“I thought that after the World Cup it would have been better for me to try something new, I thought of moving and there were several enquiries.

“But Bayern decided I had to stay and I couldn’t do much else.

“Everyone knows though, that I want to play more. I’ll talk with Bayern again, and we’ll sit down and talk over the winter.

“But I really feel I’ll never be a starter, even if I score in every game.”

As well as interest in Shaqiri, Tuttosport is also linking Juventus with a move for Manchester City’s Stevan Jovetic.

The newspaper claims that the Citizens are willing to loan out the player, with a forced purchase clause inserted in the deal, and have already spoken to members of the Juventus hierarchy.

However, the sports daily reports that the Bianconeri would face competition from Roma and former club Fiorentina for the Montenegrin’s signature.
