That is because the Juventus loanee is expected in the English capital on Tuesday morning, where he will link up with the Blues for the first time, before taking his medical and penning his contract.

The 31-year-old is thought to have agreed an initial loan with Chelsea until the end of the season, at which point it could be extended or turn into a permanent transfer.

Higuain’s switch should let Genoa hitman Krzysztof Piatek join Milan and and Atletico Madrid, in turn, sign Alvaro Morata from the Blues.
