Giorgio Chiellini could miss Juventus’ Champions League quarter-final first leg against Ajax on Wednesday with a reported calf injury.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Chiellini pulled up with the problem at the end of training on Monday.

The newspaper explains he is now ‘a serious doubt’ for the trip to Amsterdam, leaving Max Allegri with only Daniele Rugani to call upon as a replacement.

That is because fellow defenders Martin Caceres and Andrea Barzagli are already nursing injuries of their own.
