The Coach has been at the centre of controversy this season with reports of problems with President Claudio Lotito and star striker Mauro Zarate.

“I live every day as it comes and everyone knows how I feel about that. It's bad luck for me to talk about the contract,” insisted Reja.

“I confirm there is a deal with the club and we discuss strategy on a daily basis, so there are no problems, but I would prefer not to discuss my renewal now.”

The Biancocelesti have stuttered recently and welcome a Chievo side fresh from beating Napoli.

“When the campaign is over, then we can see where we end up. Our fans were satisfied with our progress and with time their expectations grew, so when we lost a little momentum then there was a sense of disappointment.

“But if we were to pick up our form again and play entertaining football, I am sure the fans would crowd around us again. We hope to get good results from now until the end of the season, as we need the supporters to stand with us.”

Zarate returns from his ban to partner Libor Kozak, who accidentally caused head injuries to both Milan's Daniele Bonera and Nicola Legrottaglie on Tuesday.

“Zarate has rested and I think is getting back to his best after not giving his all to begin with. From Wednesday he changed gear in training and started working really hard,” continued Reja.

“As for Kozak, I hope the lad doesn't pay a price for the controversy that followed against Milan. He is a real fox in the box, creates space and holds up the ball. Anyone playing alongside him reaps the benefits.”
