Next season's Napoli could be masterminded by current Lazio boss Edy Reja and former Genoa tactician Gian Piero Gasperini.

Azzurri chief Aurelio De Laurentiis reportedly met with Reja, who he sacked as Napoli boss in March 2009, in Rome today.

However, according to the rumours, Reja wasn't offered the job of Coach but was invited to consider a role as Technical Director.

The position of Coach would instead be offered to Gian Piero Gasperini, who would be assisted by Reja's expertise.

Napoli have had a campaign to celebrate after qualifying for the Champions League, but their future is in some doubt.

Boss Walter Mazzarri is surprisingly considering an exit despite their success and the fact that he has two years left on his contract.

De Laurentiis and Mazzarri are soon set to have showdown talks in a bid to understand whether their relationship will end or continue after Sunday's last round of Serie A games.
